Grand Ajnara Heritage: AOA president adopts novel ways to enjoy Diwali

It is no secret that people love to celebrate Diwali with all excitement and passion. But, of late, people are also getting sceptical in celebrating the festival as it is done in highly populated Delhi-NCR.

Taking a different path, an IT professional, residing in Grand Ajnara Heritage, has adopted novel ways. He has decided to go green this Diwali.

He has decided that he will be enjoying the festival of lights in different manner. He has found a way which does not contribute to air pollution. The air quality deteriorates during this festival.

DK Singh, who is also president of residents' body in the society, has extensively worked in the IT sector. This Diwali, he is going green to keep the air and noise pollution levels under control.

Instead of buying utensils and precious metals, he preffered to buy money plant and potted flowers on Dhanteras.

“It was not easy to convince family members as they were having habit of buying utensils to welcome Goddess Lakshmi. But I managed it somehow and convinced them to go green this Diwali,” he said.

He has also discontinued the tradition of sharing and exchanging sweets on the occasion among near and dear ones. “Instead of sweets, I shared plants with people,” he said.
