Aiming to help citizens in reducing the usages of plates and bowls, especially made of single-use plastic or thermocol sheets during social gathering or in party, Bharat Jagruk Nagrik Sangathan, an NGO on Saturday launched a Bartan (crockery) bank at Supertech Capetown, a high rise in Sector 74, Noida.

The crockery bank was inaugurated by CA Dhruv Agarwal, during a function held in the society. While inaugurating it, he announced that service is available for all without any charge.

To avail this facility, an user would need to deposit a security deposit of Rs 200 per set, which is refundable on return of each set to the bank within stipulated period of 24 hours from the time of issuance of the sets.

In case of delay in return and damage of the set, the NGO would charge fine of Rs 5 per hour or Rs 250 respectively.

Shailendra Baranwal, president of NGO, said that the initiative was taken to maintain cleanliness. He said that unhygienic conditions are often seen after the social gatherings. If they use the steel utensils, this problem would not come.
