RESIDENT SPEAK: Officials too should have Twitter accounts for better connect

The Noida Authority has though technologically equipped itself with an official Twitter account, grievance redressal systems like Jansunwaai and LED, it seems to be losing interest in these online platforms. Why else these remain inactive quite often?

There is nothing like the Twitter team of the authority promptly takes issues at hand and solves them. As prompt action is being taken over a tweet, residents of Noida prefer to tweet than log in to the websites to raise their complaints.

However, in my opinion, work circle officers like senior managers should be connected and have an official Twitter account where people could connect with them directly to raise an issue of their areas.

I feel the future lies in technology. And by moving ahead with technology will give the authority more time to understand the pros and cons of technological platforms like Twitter.

The Noida Authority is very smartly resolving issues like roads, breakers, encroachment, cleaning and any other civic issues in a day or two when contacted over Twitter and also shares images to intimate that the work has been carried out or completed. This has built a reputation among residents that the authority is approachable and doing something for them.

More efforts are needed to put in both by people of Noida and the Noida authority to help make the city a safer, greener and smarter place.
