Irked by deteriorating services, DDRWA decides to take issues in public domain

Agitated by the deteriorating basic services in the city, District Development Residents Welfare Association (DDRWA), an umbrella body of Gautam Buddha Nagar, is planning to take their issues in public domain.

This was decided in a meeting held on October 29 at Sector 35 where members of residents’ body raised many contemporary issues. The meeting was chaired by N P Singh, former president of Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association.

R S Gupta, who is spokesperson of the body said that many residents had complained that sanitation was gradually deteriorating. “It has luckily improved with the launch of cleanliness drive by the authority,” he said.

They said that the authority has only again failed to keep the same momentum of work which was there during massive cleaning drive. Suddenly, they lost interest and conditions are getting back to where it was earlier.

Gupta said that several residents from different residential sectors complained that water supply keeps on disrupting. Residents are not getting regular supply. Moreover, the pressure happens to be quite low whenever there is water supply.

“The quality of water is also not good,” residents complained.

“There are several other issues, which are now being overlooked by concerned officials. When they try to meet with official, he or she is not available for the same. It is now causing inconvenience to them,” Gupta said.

He said that members have decided to approach chief executive officers of respective authorities for putting forth their issues and requesting immediate action for solutions to their problems.

He said that if the authority does not take prompt action or not pay attention, it would force them to come on road in protest against deteriorating basic services to residents of Noida and Greater Noida.
