Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector 51 on Wednesday distributed saplings to the residents for enhancing greenery of their residential pocket. They sowed flower seeds to beautify the children's park in the sector.

Sanjeev Kumar, general secretary of the RWA, said, "As the air pollution levels are giving no sign of receding, we have decided to do our bit for the protectection of the environment. Since plants are the only source of oxygen, we decided to distribute plant saplings to the residents of our sector."

During the distribution, people were requested to take an oath to take care of the plants earnestly.

To add to the attraction of the park, the RWA provided 14 packets of spring flower seeds to the park's gardner.

Similarly, seed packets of spring blossoming flowers were gifted to the gardeners of Meghdutam Park in Sector 50.

Kumar said, "We are happy that the seeds have germinated. In February and March, these parks will look beautiful as they would then be full of spring blossoms, adding colour and beauty to our lives. This is another example of how community action can go a long way in improving the quality of life of its people.”
