Aakash Ganga CGHS

In an age when sporadic black and white TVs graced a few ‘elite’ households and internet was unheard of, we Indians had a lot less to worry about. Pollution wasn’t a threat as it is now, cycling was safe and the landscape was replete with sumptuous greens. It is surprising that a Society in Dwarka had planned its features so ahead of its time that it is relevant in today’s time! Conceptualised in 1982, Aakash Ganga Apartment complex has had contemporary features like ample green cover and ramps for the disabled ever since its inception. The housing complex was executed with the help of members of the Society overlooking its construction in tandem with the builder to ensure top notch quality of each apartment. Spread across two acres, with 3 blocks offering a milieu of 2 and 3 BHK flats, the Society boasts of a plush green cover. There is ample parking space for each flat and guests are allowed to park their vehicles inside the Society premises. The Society is well maintained with necessary provisions of security and an electrician and plumber available on call. The Society office is open daily for all kinds of assistance. Its prominent location and easy availability of basic provisions nearby make the residential complex a coveted place to live in. Few societies house duplexes. A duplex is like an ordinary flat, but with double levels. And it's double the fun! Som Apartments is one among few such societies that house plush duplex apartments in Dwarka. Constructed in the late nineties, this Cooperative Group Housing Society (CGHS) is located in the heart of Dwarka, Sector 6. Spread over an area of 5,000 sqm, it has a total of 72 flats in which 24 flats are duplex while the rest 48 flats are in 3 BHK. President of the Society MP Setia says, “The location of the society is excellent with a big park just behind it and various markets and banks around." The flats of the Society are in sizes of 99.5 sqm (3 BHK) and 134.5 sqm (duplex). There are two blocks housing 8 and 4 floors respectively. The maintenance charge of the Society is based on per square feet or per square metre which increases every year by 5%. At this moment, the charge is Rs 1,100 for 3 BHK and 1,300 for duplex flats.” There is a stilt parking for each flat, with additional parking in the open spaces.
