Frustrated by the poor service of Noida Authority when it comes to the cleaning of drains and roads, the Noida Sector 36 RWA has taken the job in its own hands.
The RWA has appointed two men for the job and is paying them salaries from its own pocket. Residents say those appointed by Noida Authority for the upkeep of the sector never come for duty.
Dr Anju Pachauri, secretary of the RWA, told City Spidey, “The RWA has often complained to the Authority, but senior officers have never responded. So we appointed these two men ourselves. They are on duty from 8 am to 5 pm.” She, however, admitted that the RWA never gave the Authority any written complaint.
There are five blocks in the sector. The cleaning of roads and parks, gardening and other such duties have been divided between these two men.
When City Spidey took up the matter with HN Singh, project engineer of Noida Authority, he said, “There is no such issue in any sector. If the workers are not doing their job, all the RWA has to do is file a complaint.”
