Ahinsa Khand 2: Residents want height barrier re-installed

Residents of Indirapuram and members of FedAOA have once again approached the vice-chairman, and the OSD of GDA and the Ghaziabad SSP to get the second height barrier on the stretch connecting Mohan Nagar link road and Pusta road installed.

According to residents, a height barrier was installed on Monday to stop trucks and dumpers from plying through the residential area of Ahinsa Khand 2. But the problem re-emerged after the barrier was removed by villagers and employees of a stone crusher nearby. Residents alleged that it was done in the presence of Prem Singh, in charge of the Kanauni police station.

Alok Kumar, president of FedAOA, DK Maurya, general secretary of FedAOA, and Anil Sharma, president of Ashiana Upvan AOA, met Vijay Yadav, the vice-chairman of GDA, and Dayanand Prasad, the OSD, to discuss the issue. They also presented their grievances to the police in-charge SP Rakesh Pandey.

One height barrier was already installed on one side of the road after a lot of to and fro between the Noida and Ghaziabad authorities. This left the other side of the road open for HMVs to ply on.

Residents of Indirapuram had been regularly following up with the authorities to get the barrier installed. Yadav, the vice-chairman of GDA, himself had assured residents of a solution. But even after getting the job done, the barrier was taken down again.

Residents presented a letter with a list of problems to Yadav. He assured them that an immediate solution to the problem would be sought. He also spoke to Atul Yadav, CO Indirapuram, to look into the problem.

In the letter addressed to the SSP, the residents requested him to provide police support to get the barrier installed once again. During the meeting with Rakesh Kumar, the SP also took note of the issue and assured action against the people responsible for the problem.
