Residents of Homes 121, a residential society in Sector 121, Noida, were out on the streets on Monday night, blocking the main road for two hours in protest against the hike in maintenance charges by the Ajnara builder.
Residents said that they found the charge hike — from Rs 2.50 to Rs 2.75 per sq ft — unjustified. They added that despite the hike, the services were pathetic. Power supply was irregular and the water was not suitable for drinking, residents said.
Vinay Singh, one of them, said, “On July 3, we got a notice that the maintenance charges were going to be increased. But the reason for the hike was not mentioned.”
Pratyush Mishra, another resident, added that whenever residents tried to talk to the builder, they refused.
