Prolonged construction of Sector library irks residents.

Residents of Sector 41, Noida, will have to wait for at least six more months for a library. This project has been delayed due to official procedures.

Noida Authority started the development of the library about two years ago. This project was to be developed in two phases. Under the first phase, the authority acquired a piece of land from Aghapur village and erected the single-storey building at an estimated cost of Rs 9 lakhs.

Noida Authority left the development midway, without floating the second tender for the completion of the building under phase two.

Residents of the Sector are irked with the delay. "The library could not be completed due to sheer negligence of the Noida Authority," alleges Keshav Sharma, Vice President, RWA Sector 41.

On being contacted by City Spidey, MC Tyagi, Assistant Project Engineer, Noida Authority, could not provide any reason for the delay. He, however, said that the budget for the second tender has been approved. The tender would be invited shortly.
