Grand Omaxe, Noida: Retired judge to preside over AOA elections

Noida Authority is in the process of appointing a retired judge as the election officer to conduct AOA elections in Grand Omaxe Apartments, Noida. Maiden polls to the AOA were suspended in June following a conflict over the issue of proxy voting.

The Authority has directed its law officer to appoint a retired judge as an election officer to re-conduct the AOA elections.

A few residents of the apartment strongly objected to the provision of proxy voting on the day of the polls, June 4. Their protests came in the way of the election procedure. Thus, Mirtunjay Singh, who was the election officer, suspended the polls.

Surya Prakash, a resident of the apartment, wrote to the project engineer of Noida Authority, RWA wing, Vedpal, urging him to conduct fresh polls. He, in turn, wrote to the legal cell and urged it to appoint an election officer. The letter, given to the law officer of the Authority, states that a retired judge should be appointed to complete the election process of the Grand Omaxe AOA.
