So parking shades are a problem, but lack of society security isn't, ask residents.

Jalvayu Vihar RWA sends notice to remove parking shades to residents

The Jalvayu Vihar RWA on Thursday sent a notice to residents constructing illegal structures such as parking shades near the society boundary wall. The notice appealed to all residents to remove such structures themselves immediately.

"On August 2, three thieves used an illegal parking shade to break their fall as they jumped into the society," said Ajay Goel, general secretary of the RWA. "Luckily, Gaya Prasad, the security supervisor and Pankaj Pathak, a guard, were able to catch all three. Police investigation revealed that on July 26, the thieves had stolen a bicycle from the society's L Block and hidden it in G Block. They were planning to take the cycle away the day they were caught."

Most residents, however, are opposing the notice. They feel a notice should also be issued to those who have encroached upon the green areas in front of their homes, and not only to those who have installed parking shades.

"The RWA is trying to shift focus from the main problem at hand, which is the lack of proper security in the society," said Narendra Mahajan, a resident. "There are only four CCTV cameras installed at the gate and the number of guards patrolling the society are far from enough. The RWA should do something about this rather than deviate from the main problem the society faces."
