A sigh of relief for Gurgaon's flat buyers

To check the increasing number of cheat and fraud cases against private builders in Gurgaon, additional chief secretary P Raghvendra Rao presided over a grievance redressal forum yesterday for flat allottees in the city.

At the forum, Rao addressed the problems of homebuyers from more than 30 privately developed societies and gave strict directions for builders to follow.

Chief administrator of HUDA, Vikas Gupta, was also present at the meeting and offered solutions.

More than 30 issues were redressed at the meeting.

Residents of Unitech told Gupta that they did not want to shift into their properties and that they wanted a refund of their money. Gupta, in turn, directed Ramesh Chandra, the owner of Unitech, and other top officials of the company to come to his Chandigarh office on August 17 with a report of their properties across India and a more detailed one of all their projects in Haryana.

To address the grievances of residents of Parsvnath Exotica in Sector 54, Gupta got together a team of officials to survey the D4, D5, D6 and B1 blocks of the society in the second week of November. The survey would investigate if the conditions to obtain an occupation certificate had been met; only then would the society be given its occupation certificate.

On the other hand, La Lagune residents from Sector 54 requested Gupta to give directions to the builder to hand over the society to the RWA. Acting on a complaint made by residents of Park Serene in Sector 37D, TL Satya Prakash, deputy commissioner of Gurgaon, was asked to file a survey report on whether all seven towers in the society were complying with the rules and conditions of the occupation certificate.
