Following orders from the additional district magistrate (ADM), residents and RWA members of Gaur Valerio, a residential society in Indirapuram, conducted a general body meeting (GBM) to begin the election process in the society on Sunday.

In the meeting, residents, with support from members of FedAOA, unanimously nominated 5 election representatives from among themselves for conducting the long-overdue RWA election in the society. The five election representatives selected in the meeting are Arun Dhawan, Partha Sarathy, Mukesh Saxena, Piyush Jain and Dr GI Mishra.

However, residents said that VS Chauhan, the president of the defunct RWA, did not attend the meeting. They added that Vikas Singh, the general secretary of the RWA, refused to accept the decision taken in the meeting citing Chauhan’s absence.

Speaking to City Spidey, Chauhan said, “I could not attend the meeting as I had to take care of some urgent personal business.”

Residents said that the additional district magistrate who was appointed as the election officer was also not present in the meeting.

Rajeev Munshi, a resident who had initially complained to the deputy registrar about the anomalies in the RWA, said that residents would approach the ADM with the developments of the meeting on Monday.
