Divine Meadows, Noida: Not so divine during monsoons

Residents of Divine Meadows, a residential society in Sector 108, Noida, are not happy about the rainwater accumulated at the society's basement and swimming pool. The latter is out of use in the monsoons.

With the surge in the number of dengue cases in the city, the issue has residents worried.

Rajesh Rana, a resident, told City Spidey that the puddles in the swimming pool and the basement had become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Despite several complaints to the society's maintenance office, no action has been taken to clear the water. "This poses a serious health threat to residents, as mosquitoes can cause diseases such as dengue and malaria," Rana added.

When City Spidey took up the matter with Brijesh Kumar, a member of the society's maintenance team, he said that they regularly pumped out rainwater from the swimming pool with the help of a motor and that the accumulated water was only the result of the previous night's rainfall. "The water collected in the basement has already been cleared," Kumar added.
