Noida’s Express View Apartments set for fresh polls

An order from the district assistant registrar of cooperative societies has set the ball rolling for RWA elections under the supervision of the district administration.

Noida’s Express View Apartments set for fresh polls

The district assistant registrar of cooperative societies has ordered Express View Apartments, a residential society in Noida, Sector 93, to furnish the details required to start the RWA electoral process.

The move came after Gajendra Kumar, the acting RWA general secretary, urged the district magistrate, Gautam Budh Nagar, to conduct elections under the supervision of the district administration.

Kumar said he was ready with the relevant documents and that these would be submitted to the assistant registrar within a week.

The society has not had a functional RWA for the past year — the last elections were postponed after disputes broke out between two resident groups. The process was further delayed because residents wanted the polls to be conducted under the supervision of the district administration.

Kumar had registered a complaint with the Deputy Registrar, Society and Firm, Meerut, after the RWA elections were cancelled last year. He added that a section of residents was allegedly trying to throw a spanner in the works.
