The heavy downpour on Tuesday caused a 20-m-long section of the rear boundary wall of East End Apartments in Mayur Vihar Phase 1 Extension to collapse.
"Usually there are four to five cars parked in that area, but luckily it was vacant that day," said Mohan Mishra, a security guard who witnessed the incident. "When I heard the wall give way, I ran to the spot. It was just 50 m from where I was sitting. Soon, a few residents who also heard it came out to have a look. The managing committee members inspected the area the next day."
JP Verma, secretary of the managing committee, said that a dedicated security guard has been deployed to keep an eye on that area. "We will get the wall up as soon as possible," said Verma.
