Skylark Apts set to adopt waste segregation and composting

The society is encouraging residents to start the process right from their homes to make the flow easier.

Skylark Apts set to adopt waste segregation and composting Dwarka Forum recently organised a workshop in the society to outline the processes of waste segregation and composting

Skylark Apartments in Sector 6, Dwarka, will soon be joining the list of societies embracing responsible waste management.

“We are going to put in place a system where all waste is segregated, and use biodegradable waste for composting,” said Colonel Sunil Dubey, president of the CGHS. “We have spread the news through circulars on the society’s noticeboards. Dwarka Forum recently organised a workshop for the society’s residents, managing committee and garbage collectors to elucidate the processes and techniques involved.”

According to Dubey, Skylark is determined to adopt the system, with waste segregation starting at the household level. “We will provide separate dustbins in each block, but also encourage residents to segregate waste at home so the process is more efficient,” he said.

“Residents are looking forward to the implementation,” said Shameera Ashroff, general secretary of Association of Neighbourhood Ladies Get-Together (ANHLGT) and a resident of Skylark. “We understand the importance of waste segregation and will do everything we can to make it a success in our society.”
