Police are tight-lipped about the incident but sources say that six pistols and 50 cartridges were recovered from the accused.

Six persons, alleged to be Naxalites, were arrested by Noida Police on the evening of October 15, according to unconfirmed reports.

The arrests were made from Flat No B48, second floor of Hindon Apartments, in Noida's Sector 42. The operation was carried out by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Noida Police. There was panic in the area on rumours of terrorists being nabbed from there.

Police are tight-lipped about the incident but sources say six pistols and 50 cartridges were recovered from the accused.

The accused have been identified as Praveen Jha, Ranjeet Paswan, Sachin Kumar, Krishna Kumar, Suraj Singh and Rakesh Saraswat.

The owner of the flat, Venu Roy, currently residing in Ahinsa Khand 2 of Indirapuram, is also being questioned by the police. Further investigations are on.
