Noida Police has received important information that will enable it to nab the suspects who, on November 22, stole a black Toyota Fortuner in Noida's Sector 93. Allegedly, the two thieves were dressed as policemen.

Dinesh Yadav, SP City, Noida, told City Spidey that investigation was under way. "The information we have received is from a reliable source and we are confident that we will nab the criminals soon," said Yadav.

The car's owner, Anil Sahoo, is a resident of ATS Greens Village, a society in Sector 93A. His driver, Raju, had dropped him to his shoe factory in Sector 82 and was driving back home when the incident occurred.

"It was around 2 pm and I was at a traffic signal near Gejha village in Sector 93, when the people in the car behind me — also a Toyota Fortuner — used their dipper, indicating they wanted to overtake, just when the lights turned green," said Raju, who hails from West Bengal. "But they overtook me and when directly in front of me, indicated that I should pull over. Seeing them dressed in police uniform, I stopped the car. They asked me for the car's papers, and when I produced the documents, they slapped me, saying they were invalid. They then forced me away from the car, dragged me into the other Fortuner and tied me up with ropes. I could see one of them take our Fortuner and drive away. The other man drove off with me and threw me off at Dankaur village, about 29 km away."

Around 4 pm, Raju called Sahoo to inform him about the incident. He had to borrow a phone to make the call, as the criminals had taken out the battery from his mobile and thrown it away.

Sahoo called 100 and informed the police of the theft of his vehicle, bearing registration number DL  9CV 3011. However, despite the police's reassurances, Sahoo is apprehensive about getting his vehicle back soon.
