What good is a service lane that doesn’t serve anyone?
This was the case in Dwarka Sector 6, where electricity poles right in the middle of the lane were blocking the way for cars.
However, BSES Delhi has stepped in to take care of the issue. The power company is removing the problematic poles from the lanes in front of societies such as Vrindavan Apartments, Guru Apartments, Badhwar Apartments and Kaveri Apartments.
“The overhead wires have been removed. We are working on removing the poles. The lane should be clear in a month,” said a BSES official in Dwarka. "However, residents need not worry as electricity will now be supplied by the newly laid underground cables."
The managing committees and the RWAs are happy with this turn of events.
SL Kalra, treasurer of Badhwar Apartments, says, “It was difficult for even a single car to pass through. We will finally have a chaos-free, clear service lane.”
PR Srinivasan, President of Guru Apartments, says, “Earlier, the garbage-collection truck from the municipal corporation used to get stuck in the service lane. Thank god the BSES decided to remove the poles.”
