You're never too old to learn: Dwarka silvers are getting digital savvy!

The way things are in the wake of demonetisation, you can't afford to be a digital laggard. So senior citizens, too, have decided to become online savvy and take training for basic digital literacy under the aegis of Senior Citizens' Association of Dwarka.

The first session was held on November 28 at the recreation centre of MCD Park in Sector 6. The participants were taught to handle smartphones, deal through e-wallets and do online banking.

General secretary of Senior Citizens' Association and joint secretary of Harsukh Apartments, Sector 7, Ravi Jaitley, said, “Keeping in view the present scenario, we want all our members to become computer literate and smartphone savvy. We do not want them to lag behind others.”

Follow-up sessions will also be held. The next one is scheduled for December 16 at the community hall of Harsukh Apartments in Sector 7.

Participant Balbir Singh Singal, president of the Harsukh Apartments, said, "This is a great opportunity for us to learn and become tech smart. Hence, I thought why not organise the next programme at our society.”

The initiative is being supported by Helpage India.
