Residents of several societies and sectors in Dwarka carried out a cleanliness campaign to bid adieu to 2016 and ring in the New Year at a Sector 7 park on December 31. We bring you the event in pictures:

EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY: Residents get down to cleaning up the park with black disposal bags. Dwarka residents have been making efforts for a cleaner and greener sub city for quite sometime now, be it taking up waste segregation in societies or initiatives to raise awareness about waste management.

HEALTH COMES FIRST: South Delhi Municipal Corporation staff was also part of the drive. Here, a resident distributes gloves and masks to sweepers and sanitary officials of the corporation. The health of the cleaning staff was another issue the campaign highlighted. Residents made sure it was made a priority at the drive.

STARTING EARLY: A child helps a resident clean up the park during the drive. The campaign helped children understand the importance of cleanliness and inculcated in them the habit of keeping their surroundings clean.

Those who participated in the drive include: Madhuri Varshney, president of Dwarka Forum, and Madhukar Varshney from Ekta Apartments, Sector 3; AK Parashar from Sri Agrasen Apartments, Sector 7; Munish Kundra from Brahma Apartments, Sector 7; Shanu and Vijay Wadhwa from Skylark Apartments, Sector 6; Pankaj Dhingra from Abhiyan Apartments, Sector 12; Arvind Agrawal from New Millennium Apartments, Sector 23; SK Sharma from Air India Apartments, Sector 3; and Robin Sharma from DDA Sector 9 .
