Sec 62, Noida: Work on to fix blocked drain near Rajat Vihar Noida Authority to instal a new gate at gate number 9 of the society

Hundreds of complaints from residents of Rajat Vihar, a residential society in Sector 62, Noida, about a blocked drain (near the society) beside the Khoda traffic signal prompted Noida Authority to begin repair work recently.

“Due to the blocked drain, sewage used to overflow in the rainy season out on to the main roads and at the society's entry gates. Residents were left with no choice but to wade through the dirty water,” said BS Khatti, general secretary of Rajat Vihar’s RWA.

Along with the repair work on the blocked drain, Noida Authority has also taken up a few more issues of the society. It is working on covering the drain outside the society, repairing the internal drainage of the society and constructing a new culvert at Gate No 9. It is also installing a new gate at this entry and exit point.

PK Garg, project engineer of Noida Authority, Work Circle-4, told City Spidey that the overall budget of the work at Rajat Vihar was Rs 25 lakh. "We began work on December 7, 2016, and the deadline is May 5, 2017," Garg added.
