The roller skating hockey players of Aligah district came first in sub-junior, junior and senior categories at the Uttar Pradesh State Roller Skating Championship 2016 held at Noida Stadium on January 4. The team beat players from Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar to secure the positions.
The team representing Gautam Budh Nagar district secured the second position after beating the team from Ghaziabad district in the senior category. In the sub-junior category, Ghaziabad defeated Gautam Budh Nagar to win the trophy for the second position. Players from Bijnor district secured the second position in junior category.
Gautam Budh Nagar stood third in the sub-junior category, while Ghaziabad players secured the third position in junior and senior categories.
Rajesh Shaily, senior vice-president of Gautam Budh Nagar Roller Skating Association, said that the winners were also given gold, silver and bronze medals.
SC Mishra, project engineer of Noida Authority, flagged off the event in the morning. The championship was first held in 2015.
