The approach road to the crematorium being developed
Residents of Sector 92, Noida, are against the construction of a crematorium by Noida Authority near a green belt in the sector.
Residents say they are opposed to the idea because they feel the presence of a crematorium near their homes will create an aura of negative energy.
"A group of representatives from our RWA met Deepak Agarwal, CEO of Noida Authority, on December 18, to convince him to stop the construction," said PN Parashar, RWA president of Sector 92. "The RWA has also written a letter to NP Singh, district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, to ask him to intervene."
Parashar also questioned the Authority's decision to develop a crematorium in their sector, as there already was one in Sector 94 nearby.
RK Sharma, project engineer of Noida Authority, said the CEO of Noida Authority had ordered construction work to be stopped for now. "We will only proceed if we receive a go-ahead from him," added Sharma.
"If the Authority has stopped construction, why is the approach road to the crematorium being developed?" said Parashar. "If they proceed with the construction, we will take the matter to court."
