Noida Sec 47: Is that a green belt or a garbage dump?

With no maintenance in the past five years, the area has become a den for snakes and a dumping ground for garbage.

Noida Sec 47: Is that a green belt or a garbage dump?

The green belt in Sector 47, Noida, is in shambles. Residents complain that there has been no maintenance work by the horticulture department of Noida Authority in the past five years.

RWA members told City Spidey that the green belt near Block A of the sector was in bad shape for a long time now. They alleged that despite repeated complaints, the horticulture department had taken no action.

"The trees haven’t been pruned and the area is turning into a garbage dump. You can even see snakes there,” complained Pravesh Sharma, the deputy general secretary of the Sector 47 RWA.

Sharma added that she had also complained via the Noida Citizen Charter app, but no action had been taken.

She told City Spidey that once Noida Authority cleaned up the place, she would initiate a campaign with other residents to stop the dumping of garbage in the area.

Surprisingly, when City Spidey took up the matter with IP Singh, project engineer of the horticulture department, he said he was unaware of any such complaint, but added that action would be taken. “I will send a team immediately and solve the problem as quickly as possible,” he said.
