The Gurgaon Citizen Council (GCC) organised a farewell programme for the outgoing deputy commissioner TL Satya Prakash at DLF City Club hotel, Phase IV, on January 21.

Satya Prakash, who has been transferred to Chandigarh as secretary of town and country planning, is being succeeded by Hardeep Singh.

Representatives of many RWAs and resident associations were present at the programme. Kuldeep Rana, RWA president of Suncity; Sumit Bhaskar, general secretary of DLF RWA; and Rama Rathi, former councillor, presented a bouquet to Satya Prakash, while RS Rathee, GCC president, and TL Kaul, GCC general secretary, presented a shawl to him at the event.

Representatives of various RWAs praised Satya Prakash for his efforts as deputy commissioner and municipal commissioner.

Rathee said, “TL Satyaprakash was of great service to the city. In his tenure, construction for underpasses began at the city’s busiest junctions — Rajiv Chowk, Iffco Chowk and Signature Tower. A lot of development work also began during his tenure. His crisis management skills were commendable, but he also had the courage to accept failures. We will always remember him and his contribution.”

VM Singh, general secretary of Suncity RWA, said, “He empowered RWAs, and land records went digital. He is among the best DCs the city has ever seen. We are sad that he is leaving the city.”

Rahul Sehgal, president of Hamilton Court, DLF Phase IV, said, “He left no stone unturned for the city’s development. He is now leaving Gurgaon, and we wish him the very best for future.”

GCC is an apex body of resident organisations in Gurgaon.
