The maintenance staff of Supertech Capetown, a residential society in Sector 74, Noida, is carrying out a training and mock firefighting drill for security guards and other members of the maintenance staff.

Gurvinder Singh, fire officer of the society, is training about 30 members of the security and maintenance staff of the society on how to handle situations related to pipeline gas leaks. The fire officer also gave a detailed explanation of the layout of the gas pipeline to help in rescue operations. Training will be on for two days.

Raj Kumar, head of the society's facility staff, told City Spidey that this was basic training for the staff and essential when it came to handling fire-related emergencies.

He said that after Republic Day, an awareness campaign for residents would be run by the society’s facility team. "In the campaign, residents will be made aware of the do's and don'ts in disaster-management situations," Kumar added.
