Does Noida Sec 26 have a rogue priest who burns waste in the open?

Residents of Sector 26, Noida, are angry with a resident priest for burning waste produced by the Shiv temple in Block E of the sector.

Amit Rishi, a resident, apprised the sector's RWA of the issue, saying the priest was adamant and refused to listen to the residents and behaved badly with them.

"He burns all the temple waste in front of my house," said Rishi. "There is so much smoke that enters my house that it is suffocating. When I asked him not to burn waste, he replied rather curtly, saying if others could burn firecrackers, why couldn't he burn waste. The RWA should intervene and teach him a lesson."

Govind Sharma, president of the RWA, said he had tried reasoning with the priest but he refused to acknowledge the problem.

When City Spidey contacted a member of the temple's association, he said that although he wasn't aware of the problem, he would take action against the priest if he was found guilty as the temple would not support air pollution.
