The managing committee of Nirman Apartments, in Mayur Vihar Phase I Extension, has recently issued a notice asking residents to keep their vehicles clean.

During a one-day cleanliness drive, Swachh Nirman, the committee members, along with a few residents, noticed that several vehicles, especially two-wheelers, were covered in dust.

Meena Kausik, who was involved in the drive, told City Spidey that the committee got in touch with the vehicle owners and appealed to them to keep their vehicles clean. “Most two-wheeler users are tenants, and they tend to not pay much heed to keeping their vehicles clean. There are many residents who are out of town. Their cars are covered in dust and that gives our society a shabby appearance."

The notice reads: “Some of the two-wheelers parked on either side of the society premises are neither being used, nor being cleaned. Owners are requested to get them cleaned on a regular basis or dispose of them to give a clean look to the area.”

DK Chhatwal, secretary of Nirman Apartments managing committee, said flats where construction work was being carried out seldom cleared the debris after the work was done. "They are responsible for getting rid of the trash after the work is over," said Chhatwal.

“The committee has also noticed that some maid servants throw litter around the society," he added. "We have identified them and asked them to not repeat it. The committee has also appealed to the flat owners to keep a check on their servants’ activities. It is every resident's duty to keep the society clean."
