For election candidates, Prateek Wisteria a priority but not Antriksh Forest

Those canvassing for the upcoming polls are conveniently skipping societies where the number of residents is low.

Candidates in the poll fray have been campaigning aggressively in Noida but have conveniently skipped societies where the number of residents is significantly low.

Here’s an instance.

Prateek Wisteria, which houses more than 1,500 families, has been frequented by candidates from different political parties. However, Antriksh Forest, which is right next to the society and has 100 families, including tenants, was conveniently skipped.

“No party candidate has visited us! We are facing a lot of problems, but who’s to listen? This society does not have an approach road from sectors 76 and 77. Though a temporary road has been developed along the boundary wall of Prateek Wisteria, residents often face a lot of resistance from the local farmers there. They claim that the temporary road is part of their plots and often block it, so residents can't use it. The absence of streetlights on the stretch also makes taking it risky business,” complained Rajesh Gupta, a resident of Antriksh Forest.

Another resident, Kuldeep Kumar Jha, added that residents felt alienated and no longer wanted to speak of their problems to candidates who have no intention of helping in future.
