Federation of Noida RWAs (FONRWA) in a meeting with the Meerut divisional commissioner, Alok Sinha, discussed law and order, and other issues in Noida. The meeting was held at Sector 52 on March 3.
"A commissioner-level office needs to be set up to ensure safety of residents," said AN Dhavan, secretary-general of FONRWA. "There are hundreds of RWAs in Noida and Greater Noida. In case of disputes, residents have no option but to travel to Meerut, where the nearest Deputy Registrar of Society office is located. It is inconvenient for them."
Traffic issues, including maintenance of lights, were also discussed at the meeting. President of FONRWA, NP Singh, urged traffic personnel to be deployed at major junctures across the city.
FONRWA also discussed issues such as reduction in electricity tariff, introduction of an EPF postal counter, internal bus connectivity in all sectors and quota for RWAs in private schools.
Responding to the demands, Sinha assured FONRWA of his involvement. He informed that a programme called "My City, My Initiative" launched in Meerut was working to improve the city.
He appealed to all RWAs to participate by sharing ideas for the betterment of the city. "If your idea is selected, you can expect full cooperation from us," Sinha said.
