Noida: Lotus Boulevard protests against builder

Residents object to CAM charge hike and poor services; say builder has threatened to reduce number of security guards in the society.

Noida: Lotus Boulevard protests against builder Residents assembled in the society during the protest

Around 100 residents of Lotus Boulevard, a residential society in Sector 100, Noida, staged a protest against the builder in the society on February 19 for providing them poor services.

Residents assembled at an open space inside the society and raised slogans against The 3C Company, the real estate company. They complain that the builder has sent them common area maintenance (CAM) charge with a hike but is providing them with low grade services.

Gaurav K Chhibar, a resident, told City Spidey that residents received a bill from the builder’s maintenance office for payment of the maintenance fee at a rate of Rs 2.99 per square feet instead of the earlier rate of Rs 1.99 per square feet. “We have opposed the builder’s move of increasing the CAM charge in society,” he said.

Residents alleged that the builder is neglecting their concerns. They also pointed out that the lifts installed in the residential towers break down frequently, but builder has failed to address the problem.

Chhibar said, “Residents stopped paying CAM charges from the month of January, 2017, as we demanded improvement in the quality of the services first. But the deadlock has continued as the builder is threatening us that the number of security guards will be reduced if we fail to clear the due CAM charge. Residents will launch a bigger protest next Sunday if the builder does not take our concerns seriously.”

Residents even alleged that the builder does not meet them to discuss the issues at length and sort them out. They said that the possession of flats to them was delayed by four years despite them having paid the builder the cost of the property.

Vinod Sharma, Fatima Khanam, Daljeet Singh, Anand Gupta, Vivek Srivastava and Manoj Thakar were some of the residents present during the protest. When City Spidey tried to contact the builder, the builder was not available for comment.
