A 29-year-old female doctor, working with a private insurance company in Delhi, reportedly tried to end her life by jumping on to the train tracks on February 20.

A case of attempted suicide was reported from Gurgaon’s Guru Dronacharya Metro Station on February 20, when a 29-year-old female doctor, working with a private insurance company in Delhi, reportedly tried to end her life.

This incident was reported at around 8 am on Huda City Centre-Samaypur Badli Line and Metro services were disrupted for about 10 minutes. CCTV footage clearly showed a woman jumping on the tracks when the train was entering the station.

After the incident, she was immediately taken to a hospital. She has suffered multiple fractures, but her condition is said to be stable. The woman has been identified as F Nishat.

“We are waiting for her statement, and trying to understand why she tried to commit suicide. But, she is still unfit to give a statement according to the doctors,” said Gurgaon police spokesperson ACP Manish Sehgal.
