Supertech Capetown raises concerns over defective lifts

Residents of tower CMC2 of Supertech Capetown, in Sector 74, Noida, wrote a letter to the society's facility staff about malfunctioning lifts in the tower.

Residents demanded immediate action and raised the following issues in the letter:

  1. Sensors of the lifts often malfunction when the gate is closing. This is dangerous, especially for children.

  2. Lifts stop with a jerk on reaching the ground floor. Though there have been frequent attempts to rectify the fault, the problem keeps recurring.

  3. The ventilation system is poor. The fan, though functional, is not effective. This is a problem, especially in the summers. It can get difficult to breathe inside the lift.

  4. Only one lift is functional most of the time, which causes a lot of inconvenience to residents.

  5. It has been observed on several occasions that when a passenger is stuck in a lift, the alarms or other safety features do not function.

  6. Neither the safety guardm, nor the residents know the basics of lift maintenance or handling. Also, residents do not get any support from the lift controller in case of an emergency. It takes at least 20 minutes for any help to arrive.

  7. The lifts are not cleaned and maintained regularly.

Bhupendra Routela, a resident of the tower, said, “The condition of the lifts is pathetic. Residents don’t feel safe using the lifts.”

When City Spidey took up the matter with Raj Kumar, head of facility of Supertech Capetown, he said he had received the letter from residents and that the problems would be fixed within two weeks.
