Lawyers of Dwarka Court will soon be able to avail facilities such as open gym and mohalla clinic on the court premises, promised Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during a function organised by Dwarka Court Bar Association on the occasion of Holi. The event was held at Dwarka Court on March 10.

Addressing the gathering at the Holi Milan Samaroh, Kejriwal assured prompt action on the demands put forth by the representatives of Dwarka Court Bar Association. He also promised to release funds for an e-library at the court.

The association also sought permission to use the PWD premises at the court that has been lying vacant for years. Kejriwal promised to put up some temporary arrangements in the area to allow the lawyers some space for sitting and working.

The lawyers also asked the chief minister to mount pressure on the PWD to speed up a project to construct about 650 chambers for the lawyers.

The association also demanded the shifting of the consumer court from Saket to Dwarka, and the labour court from Karkarduma Court to Dwarka Court for the south-west district. Kejriwal agreed to talk to the concerned departments and officials.

There was yet another request from the bar association: To declare a candidate for the upcoming municipal elections from the lawyer community of Dwarka Court. The CM agreed on that as well.

Several dignitaries of the area were present at the event. Cultural events were also organised to mark the occasion.
