In a unique experiment, residents of Ajanara Grand Heritage, a society in Sector 74, Noida, have started using WhatsApp to share job vacancies in companies and firms where they are employed.

A resident of the society, Dhananjay Singh, started the initiative by forming a WhatsApp group on August 28, 2016, and named it "Jobs within GAH members". This group was started for residents who had no jobs at hand or were looking for a change.

The group already has 200 members, with numbers rising every day. Since its inception, the group has helped 17 residents get jobs.

"I created this group exclusively for residents of my society, and after the success of this group, I am going to form another group for residents of all the societies in Sector 74," said Singh.

Amit Agnihotri, a member of the group, told City Spidey that such groups were a boon to residents. "We give our references and job details to the ones in need, and they send us their resumes. We forward these to relevant people," he added.

Rudresh Singh, another member of the group, also lauded the initiative. "This WhatsApp group has encouraged residents to think for the community," said Singh. It was through him that one of the group members, Priyank Kaushik, got a job in Accenture, Gurgaon.

Mayank Singh, another member of this group, said while looking through the group's messages, he came across a lucrative offer from Genpact in Sector 135, Noida. "This initiative means a lot for people like me who are looking for a job switch. It is encouraging to see so many people getting good jobs through this."
