Though the managing committee is yet to ascertain the cause of the problem, it immediately called in Delhi Jal Board water tankers to tide over the crisis.

Aditi Apts, East Delhi: Soiled water from kitchen taps

Residents of Aditi Apartments, a cooperative group housing society in IP Extension, were in for an unpleasant surprise on the afternoon of March 28 when their kitchen taps started dispensing soiled water.

At first, the flat owners assumed that there was some temporary problem with the water pipe, but later a few more residents complained of the same thing to the managing committee.

Shivani Malhotra, a resident, recounted, “In the morning, we were getting clean water. But from around 12.30 pm, dirty water began to flow from the tap. I immediately informed the managing committee office.”

The managing committee got in Delhi Jal Board water tankers to provide clean supply to residents

The managing committee still doesn't know what caused the problem. However, it immediately stopped supply and arranged for Delhi Jal Board (DJB) water tankers.

SK Chawla, manager of the committee office, said, “Our priority was to arrange water for daily use. So far, two tankers were sent from DJB. Residents will be supplied enough water, so there’s no need to panic. We are trying to understand what the problem is, and will resolve the matter as soon as possible.”

A security guard, on condition of anonymity, told City Spidey that three days back, a couple of residents had complained of the same issue.

The president and general secretary of the managing committee could not be contacted for comment.
