Sec 30, Noida: It's been a year but the roads are still broken

Residents of Sector 30, Noida, are facing a tough time commuting on the internal roads of the sector, as they are broken and riddled with potholes for more than a year now.

The RWA of the sector has lodged several complaints with Noida Authority, but the problem persists.

Pramod Verma, president of the sector's RWA, told City Spidey that the roads were full of gravel as a result of erosion. "When vehicles use these roads, the tyres don't get a proper grip and they invariably end up skidding," said Verma. "It is also a problem for pedestrians, especially senior citizens. Just last week, there were two unfortunate incidents involving older residents, in which they lost balance on the gravel and the potholes, and fell down while taking a walk. One of them fractured a leg, and the other an arm."

"We have lodged several complaints with Noida Authority and even met officials, but the problem persists despite their assurances," Verma added.

When City Spidey contacted SC Mishra, project engineer of Noida Authority, he said was aware of the issue. "Details of the road have been forwarded to the higher officials of the Authority for approval," he said added.
