For residents of Park View Residency in Palam Vihar, Sector 3, Gurgaon, Navratra is an occasion to bond over. Everybody gathers at the temple on the society premises to celebrate.

The temple, built at a cost of Rs 15 lakh, with voluntary contributions from residents and from RWA funds, is always filled with eager residents during Chaitra Navratra.

“The idea of setting up a temple within the complex came to us in 2015, when a senior citizen of our condominium met with an accident while going to a temple outside the complex during Navratra," said SC Kumar, RWA president. "Also, there were a number of chain-snatching incidents at the time. So for the safety of the residents, we decided to build a temple inside our condominium.”

The temple remains opens from 5.30 am to 9 pm. There’s also a boy who supplies flowers. And kirtans are often be arranged during the evenings.

“Visiting a temple gives us positive energy. The fragrance of dhoop, or incense sticks, clears out the negativity from the surroundings,” said Prem Dhull, a 65-year-old resident.
