Can't get in or out of Legend Apts, Gurgaon? Blame the long CNG lines

Long queues at a CNG filling station in Sector 57, Gurgaon, have been the cause of traffic snarls in the area, making it tough for residents to enter and exit their societies. The CNG station is located adjacent to The Legend Apartments and Block E, Sushant Lok II.

"The long queues reach right up to the society entry and exit gates, resulting in congestion in the area," said Ragini Parbanda, a resident of E Block, Sushant Lok II. "The car drivers don’t move their vehicles despite repeated requests, which often causes altercations, further adding to the chaos."

“Initially, when we raised the issue, a police team from Sector 56 was deployed with a PCR van to sort out the problem. But now we can’t see anybody and the situation worsens during peak traffic hours, especially in the mornings and the late evenings,” said Ashish Singh, secretary of the RWA, The Legend Apartments.

Residents also said vehicles waiting in queue often honked unnecessarily, causing a lot of noise pollution.

The CNG station has been functional since June 2015. Several complaints about the problem have been made to the police, Haryana City Gas, the CNG company, and the staff at the CNG station, but the situation has not improved. Residents have even written to Mahesh Dayma, the area councillor, several times, but the problem persists. They met him again on March 2 to discuss the issue.

“We had requested the CNG station to deploy someone to manage the unruly queue in front of the society gates," said Dayma. "I will take up the issue and get it resolved.”
