GURGAON

Homebuyers of Universal Aura, a residential project in Sector 82, Gurgaon, and Canary Greens, a residential project in Sector 73, Gurgaon, had met YM Mansoori, the Allottees Grievances Redressal Forum (AGRF) subcommittee chairman and senior town planner, over the possession of flats. While representatives of Universal Buildwell (builder of Universal Aura) were present at the meeting, there were no representatives of Today Homes(builder of Canary Greens).

"If representatives of Today Homes do not attend the next meeting, then we will give recommendations for strong action against builder to the director general town and country Planning (DGTCP)."

Hapless residents of Sector 40, Gurgaon, threatened to stage an agitation against the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) to protest the badly damaged internal roads. Just a month back, the residents had staged a protest on the same issue. MCG assurance to repair the roads had followed soon enough, but repairs were carried out on only a small patch.

NOIDA

Two bike-borne criminals had snatched valuables from a woman after assaulting her in Sector 50, Noida, on the morning of April 5. A similar incident was reported on April 1 from Sector 51.

"It seems the same gang has struck again. We have some clues and will nab the miscreants soon. Two police personnel with bikes have been deployed to patrol the areas on a regular basis.”

The torment of parents these days is not just restricted to school fees. They are being forced to pay exorbitant amounts for uniforms and books, to be bought compulsorily from the school!

GHAZIABAD

Some residents of high-rises in Indirapuram complain that there is usually insufficient participation in municipal elections by the residents. They say that the lackadaisical attitude of authorities and lack of awareness among residents is the primary reason behind the problem.

"The process [organising camps and form collection points for inclusion of names of residents of high-rise societies] will be initiated only after we get directions from the State Election Commission of Uttar Pradesh"

A defunct sewage treatment plant (STP) set up by the Ghaziabad Development Authority in Raj Nagar Extension has become a cause for concern for residents of over 50 residential societies in the area. Residents complain that they have to rely on hired tankers that dump the sewage water from the societies in open fields or in under construction drains. The sewage water is first collected in pits in these societies.

"Some work of the sewage treatment plant has been held up due to a Supreme Court stay order that barred construction work. We expect an order soon and the matter to be resolved accordingly."

EAST DELHI

A public toilet at Samachar Market in Mayur Vihar Phase I Extension, rather than being a convenience, has become a botheration to people of the area. The toilet is clogged and stinking, making day-to-day business at the market unbearable for shoppers and shopkeepers alike.
