Traffic diversion at Cyber Hub hits footfall

Gurgaon: Exit near the national highway has been closed and visitors have to take a longer route to leave the place.

Traffic diversion at Cyber Hub hits footfall

The traffic diversion at Cyber Hub has become a hassle for visitors as they now have to take a longer route to exit the area. The distance, which was 40 meters earlier, is now more than a kilometre.

After the liquor ban, the exit on the national highway, which was closed, has further affected the footfall as residents have started avoiding the destination.

“To reach the entrance of Cyber Hub, one has to make a long detour and take an underpass to reach the place. This is almost 1.1 km. Likewise, the exit has also been changed and it is adjacent to the entry,” says Sukriti Singh, an MNC employee.

People are also avoiding taking cabs for the location as the charges have increased due to the longer route. “Earlier, I used to pay Rs 150 from Sector 30 to visit Cyber Hub. Now that amount has increased to Rs 200 due to the additional distance and increased traffic,” says Rahul Sharma, a banker.

Many pub and bar owners say there has been a huge dip in the business since the liquor ban. “Our sale was roughly Rs 4 lakh a day. It has reduced to Rs 5,000. And this sale is due to those working in the corporate sector who visit during office hours,” says Ashwini Kumar, owner of Soi 7 pub .

However, the town and country planning officials maintain that change in entry and exit routes would not be allowed and only the approved plans will be in effect.
