Defunct signal in Vasundhara Enclave disrupts traffic

A defunct traffic signal at an intersection near Dharamshila hospital in Vasundhara Enclave has been disrupting traffic for the past six months now. Residents of societies in the area are annoyed with the apathy of the traffic police police department. One of the residents said, "It seems they are waiting for a major accident to occur. Only then they might repair the traffic signal."

Residents living in the area said they were risking their lives daily while crossing the road to reach the DDA market, nearby. BS Rawat told City Spidey that residents had lodged seevral complaints with the traffic police but nothing had been done. “Whenever I see traffic cops in this area, I make it a point to express my concern to them," said Rawat. "They have the same answer every time, that it would be fixed next week. And several months have passed without any action."

Geeta Sharma, a resident of Dainik Janyug Apartments, said, “In the evenings the situation worsens when people return from their works. There is a No Horn advisory right next to Delux Apartments, but people do not pay any heed to it. The situation in the evening peak hours is insane." Dilip Singh, a resident of Delux Apartments, said, “The traffic snarls have made our loves hell."

When contacted, a traffic police official said, “The traffic lights are working fine but there is a problem with its operating system. I have escalated the issue to my seniors. It is upto them to act on it now."
