Hundreds of parents of children studying in Raghav Global School, Sector 122, Noida, staged a protest against a hike in school fees outside the school on April 11.
Parents alleged that the school management had hiked the fees by around 50 per cent in current academic year. They said that the tuition fee and transport fee have been increased.
Mundar Yadav, a parent, told City Spidey, “We want a rollback of the fees hike. Parents were not taken into confidence before increasing the fees.”
“The fee for the last few years was Rs 10,000 quarterly, but suddenly the management raised the quarterly fee to Rs 15,500. This is not acceptable,” he added.
Parents said that if their demand for a rollback was not met, they would again protest on April 13 in front of the school. They said that they also plan to meet NP Singh, the district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, regarding the issue.
City Spidey tried to contact the school authority but no one was available for comment.
