Residents living near DLF Phase 5, Genpact, Vyapar Kendra market, Supermart I, Supermart II and South Point Mall will benefit from the new stations.
Rapid Metro Gurgaon has opened two new Metro stations to the public today — Sector 42-43 and Sector 53-54.
Residents living near DLF Phase 5, Genpact, Vyapar Kendra market, Supermart I, Supermart II and South Point Mall will benefit from the new stations.
“To provide last-mile connectivity to commuters travelling from Vatika Chowk and Golf Course Road, Rapid Metro Gurgaon has tied up with Shuttle to provide AC bus services and e-rickshaws to commuters,” said a spokesperson of Rapid Metro Gurgaon.
The Sector 42-43 station provides connectivity to Vyapar Kendra, various condominiums of DLF 5, DLF Golf View, Global Foyer, American Express and Paras Hospital. The Sector 53-54 station gives access to South Point Mall, Paras Downtown, IBIS, Genpact, Alchemist Hospital and various condominiums. The station is a big relief to residents of sectors 55 and 56 and those living in the Golf Course area, who were suffering as a result of the lack of public transport. The autorickshaws in the area, capitalising on their monopoly, used to fleece commuters.
Vikas Dhamija, an employee working at Paras Downtown, told City Spidey, “The new stations have come as such a relief. We had to rely on our cars and spend hours stuck in traffic. Now we will save on both fuel and time."
The Rapid Metro on this route will run every five minutes, with the first Metro starting at 6.05 am and running until 12.36 am. It will ease traffic flow on Golf Course Road, which is one of the busiest stretches in the city.
Connecting the two most congested areas of Gurgaon – Cyber City and Golf Course Road — Rapid Metro’s 12 trains and 11 stations complete a circle of 11.7 km.
