Noida Authority holds meeting with Sikka Karnam Greens buyers and builder

Noida Authority held a triparty meeting between homebuyers of Sikka Karnam Greens, an under-construction project in Sector 143B of Noida, and the builder to discuss issues faced by the buyers. The meeting was held at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra in Sector 6, on April 26. The meeting was chaired by Santosh Kumar, officer on special duty (OSD) of Noida Authority.

Buyers complained that they had invested money in the project in 2012 and had already paid 95 per cent of the cost of the flat. Although the builder had promised to deliver the flats by mid-2014, construction work was still pending.

Ramesh Kumar, a buyer, told City Spidey that the by-laws had been set aside by the builder, who had constructed 20 shops in the green belt area. "The Authority assured us that a team would be sent to the project site to investigate the illegal construction," he added.

Rakesh Mohan, another buyer, said the builder had given new dates for possession for all the 11 towers and divided the project into three phases. The new dates of possession were Phase 1 by September 2017, Phase 2 by December 2017 and Phase 3 by April 2018. "I also request the Authority to examine the funds collected from the buyers and the construction quality of the project," he added.

Gurmeet Singh, one of the directors of Sikka Group, told City Spidey that the company had enough funds to complete the project. "Whatever we promised in the meeting will be fulfilled on time, and buyers will get their flats with all basic facilities in place," he added.

OSD Santosh Kumar said the builder had to pay Rs 113 crore to Noida Authority. "The builder has to submit a tower-wise report before May 6," he added.
