What happened to Brownie... can the videos tell?

The police has made some progress on the case of the missing dog from of DLF Phase II.

The owner of the dog, Anupama Shrivastav, found Brownie missing on April 1. She said the dog was roaming outside the house.

The police is now investigating videos handed over to them by the PFA team. The videos show some people conversing about consuming dog meat over drinks. One of the men shown in the video has reportedly admitted to eating dog meat.

While the police is verifying the authenticity of the videos, an FIR has been registered under Section 379 (theft) and 429 (mischief by killing or maiming an animal) under IPC and under Section 11(1) (a) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

The main suspect has been caught by the police from DLF Ph I. Others remain at large.

“The videos show meat being consumed, but whether it is dog meat is yet to be ascertained,” said a police official.

When City Spidey reached the house of the nabbed suspect in nearby Sikanderpur village, it was found locked.

The neighbours, however, say they have seen the men beat up a dog. But when shown a picture of Brownie, they could not identify the animal for certain.

Whether the dog beaten up was Brownie still remains to be ascertained.
