Dwarka: ANHLGT makes dealing with adolescence easier

ANHLGT (Association of Neighbourhood Ladies Get-Together) conducted an awareness event on adolescent health at Basava International School in Sector 23, Dwarka. More than 100 students participated in the event.

During the talk, the girls interacted with gynaecologist Dr (Maj) Archana Singode.

Dr Singode spoke about various problems related to adolescence and other associated health issues of this rather vulnerable age. She also threw light on the emotional problems of this phase.

ANHLGT president Cicily Kodiyan said, “We have been organising awareness activities for students. More such programmes are on the cards.”

From the ANHLGT team, Promila Malik from Jagran Apartments of Sector 22; Mini George from Manisha Apartments of Sector 23; Ramanjit Suri from New Millennium Apartments of Sector 23; and others were present.

ANHLGT, formed in 2009 by 10-12 women from Sector 22-23, has come a long way, and now has 3,000 members across the sub-city. It has played a vital role in creating community consciousness — be it making residents aware of the importance of municipal votes or conducting camps and activities on a host of social issues.
